24 February, round #2

WHOA. My white blood cell count jumped from 0.4 to 3.9 in a 24-hour period. The low end of WBC normal is 4.5. WOO-HOOO!!! I’m more hopeful that I can go home earlier, providing there aren’t any further complications.🤞🏻🙏🏻

Yay!!! Dr. Bamboh is back! I hoped I would get to see her again because she’s thoroughly awesome. We usually get to chatting about stuff and today was certainly no exception. She even gave me a hug! Aww…😊

Welp, today ended up being a pretty good day. My energy levels are slowly coming back, my appetite’s good, my sense of taste hasn’t been completely turned upside-down like last cycle, I’m better hydrated (although this is an ongoing struggle), so overall I think I’m on an upward trajectory. Dr. Santiago wants to wait a few days to watch my platelet count before giving me the boot though, because he wants to make sure that my bone marrow is doing what it’s supposed to be doing. It’s still the beginning of the week – I hope to be homeward bound by the weekend, but my body may have other plans. It’s still very much a waiting game but things are looking more promising!🤞🏻🙏🏻
