I’m back out on the patio enjoying the fresh air once more, even though it’s overcast and threatening rain. I have to take advantage of this as much as I can before being sealed off inside a huge air-conditioned building. I haven’t called the hospital yet but I will as soon as I get back inside, just to let them know that I’ll be in a bit later than usual today. This is nice though. I didn’t have to worry about packing last night and I have almost everything I need gathered together in a semi-tidy pile at the foot of our bed. We won’t be leaving until Rory finishes work so I still have plenty of time to get everything done. I don’t know if the girls will be coming with us or not but I’m guessing not. We’ll see. OH – Lauren has a long-overdue orthodontist appointment today and she might be getting her brackets removed! Geez, I hope so, those things have given her nothing but grief since they were first superglued to her teeth 2 1/2 years ago.
Wow, busy day. Rory and I ended up leaving the house at about 12:15 and got to the hospital’s Admissions desk an hour later. (The traffic in the parking structure was bat sh*t crazy.) By 2:15 I had my room assignment and Rory left to get Lauren to her orthodontist appointment. My PICC line was put in at around 3:30 and I was swept off to the dungeons at 4:30 for my spinal tap/intrathecal. Still no word on when my bone marrow biopsy will be done though. Wait, I stand corrected. Apparently the biopsy will happen first thing tomorrow morning, which means that I may not get any breakfast. I may be able to scrounge a bowl of cereal from one of the nurses. And there’s always my ginormous container of dry roasted peanuts!😆
I’m once again hooked up to the old ball and chain, getting both fluids and Rituxin. I’ve been given Benadryl so it’s going to be nightie-night time here in a few. All I need to do is brush my teeth and then I can crawl into bed.
